We hope that you are enjoying this warm, dry, and hazy summer. Sadly, it will not be long and old man winter will return and we will long for these warm days of summer. We would like to thank you for allowing Droste Tax & Accounting the chance to provide you with all your tax preparation and accounting needs in the last year. This tax season marked my 20th season preparing tax returns in the Reedsburg area. My wife and I have owned and operated Droste Tax & Accounting for 9 of those 20 years. Sarah and I have been truly blessed to have such great clients that we have always looked at as being our friends and family. This is a business that is built on trust and relationships. We have appreciated the trust our clients have in us. The relationships that we have built with our clients and the community of Reedsburg have been priceless.
The purpose of this letter is to inform are valued clients that some changes will be taking place to our practice. Sarah and I have decided to sell our practice to two wonderful accountants from Reedsburg as of September 1, 2023. The new owners of our practice will be Franny Bartels and Dena Grinder. Franny Bartels is an Enrolled Agent (which is the same designation that I am and is designation given by the IRS through testing) and has been in public accounting for 20 plus years as well as preparing taxes 12 years. Franny has worked for Filter CPAs and Wegner CPAs right here in Reedsburg. Dena Grinder is an Accountant and QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Dena has been working in public accounting since 1995. Dena also has worked for Filter CPAs and Wegner CPAs in Reedsburg. We feel Franny and Dena will be a great fit for our practice and will provide the same high level of service that our clients have come to expect. We would not have it any other way.
The purchase agreement will have Franny and Dena taking over all accounting services as of September 1, 2023. I will be working side by side with Franny and Dena during the transition so that everyone is comfortable with the changes taking place. The agreement also states that I will continue to be a tax preparer for their business for at least the next two tax filing seasons. I will continue to work with clients in preparing tax returns, tax planning, and any resolution work that needs to be done. I am not just walking away after September 1. Franny, Dena, and I will be splitting up tax returns so that the next two years run smoothly and this will allow them to grow the business and make it their own.
Sarah and I again want to thank our clients for an amazing 9-years in this crazy world of tax preparation and accounting. We have been truly blessed to have such loyal clients that have entrusted us with all their accounting needs. I plan to work a day or two a week for the remainder of 2023. Sarah and I will work during the tax filing season of 2024. In the summer of 2024, I will be in the office by appointment only. I will then work the 2025 tax filing season.
We would like to invite you to our open house on October 25th from 3pm-7pm. Clients can come in and meet Franny and Dena, as well as answer any questions you may have about this change. We hope that all our clients embrace and support Franny and Dena on their new venture in purchasing our firm. Please feel free to call with questions at any time.
